Made from 100% of our own estate grown Seyval Blanc, Simsbury Celebration opens with a soft, creamy texture. Hints of passion fruit, apple and apricot work with subtle acids which in turn lead into a lingering finish of spice, faint orange zest and flinty mineral overtones extracted from the deep sandy/gravel bench soils of the valley floor.
This year’s Serendipity offers a softer side of the Sauvignon grape than you might first expect. Notes of green apple and peach precede a crisp, firmly structured mouthfeel featuring hints of honey, mineral, citrus fruits and to some, a faint spiciness. Think of pairing this wine with grilled swordfish, lobster, or seafood dishes in rich cream sauces.
750 ml: $14.75
Made from 100% Rosedale grapes, Three Sisters offers faint aromas of dried herbs and fresh meadow grass. What follows is a tantalizing balance of acidity and fruit offering a crisp, delicate dinner wine perfectly suited to pair with lighter seafood dishes such as flounder, sole or crab. Sweet melon and a hint of lemon zest on the finish.
750 ml: $14.75
Against a background of Merlot, Lou’s Red weaves in the spicy brightness of our St. Croix and the rich blackberry tones and deep color of our Marchal Foch. Aged with new French oak for a limited time, the result is a complex and subtle fruit forward wine with an intriguing berry nose and subtle tannins.
375ml: $9.00, 750 ml: $16.75
Farmington River Red
The 2012 Farmington River Red is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pronounced cherry greets you immediately with a background of herb laced plum, sage and cedar focused around a good natural acidity and solid, but approachable tannins. This wine is a little shy…you may need to swirl it in the glass and have a little conversation before it decides to fully open up to you.
750 ml: $16.75
Red raspberries are the inspiration for this wine which matches a blend of Riesling and our own Vignoles, Sevyal, Vidal and Traminette with the essence of red raspberry. The naturally higher acidity of these grapes balances out a smooth sweetness and sets up the perfect wine to serve with any number of deserts or even over ice on a hot summer afternoon.
375ml: $8.00, 750 ml: $14.75
Chardonnay with the added essence of peaches and apricot…a classic Chardonnay taste profile moves to a new level when crafted to showcase the sweet side of fruit and wine grapes with just 2/3 the alcohol of a regular Chardonnay. Over ice by the pool? In the hammock with a good book? Why not?
750 ml: $12.75
Blueberries and Pinot Noir…what a combination! Pinot Noir by itself is a classic. But adding the essence of blueberries with a touch of sweetness creates a unique experience. Add to that its low alcohol content of just 8%, and when slightly chilled, you have the perfect sipping companion.
750 ml: $12.75
